NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) is a non-profit organization whose mission is to change and enrich lives with equine-assisted activities and therapies. NARHA fulfils this mission by helping children and adults with physical, emotional and cognitive challenges find independence through equine related activities, such as horseback riding. NARHA is able to achieve this with the assistance of a wonderful team of over 40,000 volunteers, 3,500 instructors and many financial supporters all across theUnited Statesand internationally.

NARHA Horses for Heroes assists wounded veterans and active service personnel using equine assisted activities and therapies. This program benefits veterans of all ages. NARHA Past President Dr. Paul Spiers says, “Appreciating the power of the horse to change lives is our goal and NARHA wants to provide positive change for these very special lives. Our service personnel have fought to preserve our freedom, and, for many, at a very dear cost.
