It’s January, and the beginning stages of New Year’s Resolutions! One of the most common resolutions people choose to make is getting organized. What better way to start your new outlook on organization than in the place you spend the most time – the barn! Take the first steps to organization and commit to starting in the barn first. Here are 5 tips to keeping your barn organized all year long.
- Go through old tack and blankets. If there are items that can be reused or sold, start a tack swap at the barn or with your local 4H team. If the blankets and tack aren’t reusable throw them away. Clutter makes it hard to stay organized.
- Vacuum seal out of season items and store in a cool, dry area.
- Keep a back-up or stock pile of frequently used items around the barn. Take inventory once a month or as needed to ensure popular items are always on hand.
- Make standing appointments for the ferrier and vet each month. This will help keep you on track and help plan out a monthly budget.
